NOTOCON XII is the 12th biennial conference of the United States Grand Lodge of Ordo Templi Orientis. NOTOCON provides opportunities to grow in your understanding of the Order and its mysteries, and to meet Brethren from the Order in U.S. Grand Lodge and around the world.

Who may attend NOTOCON XII?

Initiate members in good standing are invited and welcome to attend NOTOCON.

May my spouse/partner/child(ren) attend?
We welcome your immediate family members, partners, and *children who may be traveling with you to attend the evening events, and the General Sunday Celebration of Liber XV, The Gnostic Mass, by adding them to the related member’s registration as a +1 for the price of $75 per +1. Their attendance is subject to approval by the Executive Members of USGL.   
*Please note that we are unable to provide monitoring and entertainment for minors, please keep your young ones close, and tasteful yet adult themes may be present during the evening.

NOTOCON XII will be held in the City of Cleveland, Ohio over four days from Thursday, August 1 to Sunday, August 4, 2019 at the Westin Cleveland Downtown. Though if you will be in town on Thursday, August 1, Black Sun Lodge will be hosting a pre-conference event which is separate from and not officially part of NOTOCON. See item #21 below for more info.

Who is sponsoring NOTOCON XII?
NOTOCON XII is an official conference of the US Grand Lodge of the O.T.O. Locally, the event is sponsored by an all-volunteer team consisting of members from Black Sun Lodge in the Valley of Cleveland, Sword and Serpent Oasis in the Valley of Dayton, Ohio, Golden Thread Camp in the Valley of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Blue Equinox Oasis in the Valley of Detroit, Michigan, and Star of Babylon Camp in the Valley of Raleigh, North Carolina. Please consider showing these members your gratitude for their service, hard work and dedication!

How can I register for NOTOCON XII?
Please visit this link on the NOTOCON XII website. Online registration closes at midnight on July 18, 2019 EV. You can still register onsite and please bring proof of your dues-current membership and current degree up to IV/PI.

Onsite Registration/Badge & Tshirt Pickup
Registration will be open from 8:00 a.m.–11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 2, and then again from 8:00 a.m –11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 3. The registration desk will be located in the 6th floor foyer, just under the glass stairs to the seventh floor. If you ordered a t-shirt, please be sure to pick it up when you register. For security reasons, pick up your own badge and the tshirts you ordered (please try your best to avoid sending others to pick up items you registered for).

What airport should I fly into? How do I get from there to the conference? Is there a fee for hotel parking?
The least expensive option is to take the rapid transit train located inside Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) eastbound to the Public Square stop. Once you arrive at Public Square, proceed to the exit on the Square, and you can either walk to the hotel (about a 12-minute walk), or take the free C-Line trolley on the Square, which stops in right in front of the Westin. Schedules, tickets and more information can be found at Tickets for the rapid transit train are $2.50 each way.Uber X runs approximately $21.00 from the airport to the hotel.  Per the hotel website, taxi fare runs at about $34.50.Parking at the Westin is valet only, and currently runs at $27.20 per day with our 20% group discount. This is subject to change.

Where can I stay during the Conference?
Our conference Hotel Room Block is open until Thursday, July 19, be sure to reserve your room well in advance since our specially rated $125 room block can sell out. You may wish to upgrade to the Club Level for access to included breakfast, happy hour, and beverages. Is it permissible to share rooms and other travel arrangements?
Yes, all Conference attendees may make their own arrangements regarding room accommodation. Such arrangements are a matter for the respective members to arrange and monitor. Click here to be added to a active google group created to facilitate meeting others looking to share travel.

Can I stay with local brethren?
There are a very limited number of spaces with local brethren, we are unable to guarantee hospitality will be available. Click Here to email Black Sun Lodge with your request for Hospitality.

Can I come early and stay late?
Yes, there is limited space at the Conference Rate 3 days before/after NOTOCON XII.

What else is there to do in Cleveland?
Please visit Westin’s Local Area link for ideas, or ask a local! Cleveland enjoys a great number of amazing museums and attractions, and we encourage you to stay for a longer visit! Please note that the Westin has an additional limited number of rooms available at our discounted room block rate 3 nights before and after the CON.

What food options are there?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel farm-to-market restaurant. Please see this list. for nearby dining options in every price range. You may also view this map of food options in Downtown Cleveland.

Saturday Formal Banquet & Lunch with Lon
Saturday’s Lunch with Lon and the evening’s Formal Banquet dinner are both included with your ticket, we hope you join us for these not-to-be-missed events! Please dress in your Thelemic best for the Saturday evening banquet, many different styles and dress are something our group always enjoys greatly!

Is smoking allowed?
The Westin Cleveland Downtown is a smoke-free hotel. Please do not smoke anything in your hotel room. The Westin reserves the right to charge an additional $250 fee to any guest found to be smoking in their room.

Red No-Photo wristbands
These will be provided to attendees so they may signify their intent, by wearing the wristband, for photos of them to not be shared in any way without their express permission. These wristbands will be available at the registration table. Please assume attendees are wearing one, and obtain their enthusiastic consent before taking and/or sharing photos.

Please note that harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at NOTOCON XII. Please be respectful of your siblings and their personal space. Any instances of harassment should be reported immediately to any S.G.I.G, or to Nessa or Lori onsite for resolution, which may include the removal of the perpetrator from the event.

Is there going to be a Mass?
Yes, there will be a Mass and confirmation robes are optional.

Will there be other rituals?
Review the schedule, posted only on the website and on a limited basis onsite, for information on RESH times and other morning and evening rituals.

Will there be entertainment?
There will be great fun & entertainment at the Saturday evening Formal Banquet! Please see and sync the schedule.

Are there T-Shirts?
NOTOCON XII T-Shirts are available to pre-order via the registration form ONLY through June 30, 2019. They will not be sold at the event. Pre-ordered t-shirts must be picked up by the attendee who ordered them when they obtain their badge at registration onsite.

What will the Weather be like in Cleveland in August?
Average highs of 81º F and lows of 66º F. In Cleveland, the chance of a wet day over the course of August is around 33%.

Will there be any events at Black Sun Lodge?
All conference events are at the conference hotel; however, there will be a welcome event at Black Sun Lodge on Thursday August 1, 2019. NOTE: Black Sun Lodge is on the second floor in an older building, and does not have an elevator. There will be someone available at the Lodge to ensure brethren with all mobility abilities are able to enjoy the event.
